Soon you will see changes in the Google Maps app. Find out what new features are coming.
Another change has been made to the design of the popular Google Maps app for Android.
Android device users, such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 or the Google Pixel 9 Pro, will notice a design update in the Google Maps app, aimed at enhancing its visual appearance and user experience. This modification includes a new color palette in the interface, expected to make navigation and interaction more enjoyable.
According to recent reports, Google Maps will change its distinctive blue accents on buttons and user interface elements to a dark teal tone. Additionally, text labels within the app will switch from blue to black, which could improve readability, especially in varying light conditions, helping users focus on the content without the distraction of bright colors.
Another significant change is the removal of blue from the app’s floating action button, which typically provides quick access to important functions such as starting navigation or adding a location.
This color change comes about a year after Google Maps modified the colors of map features, such as bodies of water and roads, which generated some initial criticism. In previous years, Google Maps also introduced a cleaner design on the main screen, new pin colors, and a simplified interface.
Android users should keep an eye out for this Google Maps update, which may be released soon, offering a refreshed look for one of the most widely used navigation apps in the world.
