The Samsung Galaxy A56 5G will be launched in 2025, featuring advancements in fast charging, cameras, and connectivity. Below, we share the leaked specifications and the projected price.
In January of this year, Samsung launched its S25 line and is now focusing on the popular Galaxy A series, introducing the Galaxy A56 5G, which is shaping up to be a standout option for those seeking a balance between price and functionality. Although its official launch is expected in March or April 2025, leaks have already emerged with information about its specifications and improvements over its predecessor.
In terms of design, the Galaxy A56 will maintain Samsung's usual aesthetic, but with a noteworthy update in the rear camera module, which will now be grouped in a single vertical island instead of the previously used separate lenses. Additionally, its structure will feature an aluminum frame and a more robust glass back, giving it a more premium look. The screen will also experience a slight increase in size, moving to 6.7 inches, with a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, promising a smoother experience. Anticipated improvements include enhanced durability of the glass and an increase in maximum brightness, although exact details have yet to be confirmed.
Regarding performance, the Galaxy A56 will be equipped with the Exynos 1580 processor, the successor to the Exynos 1480 in the A55. Leaked Geekbench tests indicate that this new chip will offer slightly better performance, between 5% and 10%, suggesting an optimization that will favor energy efficiency. It is expected to feature 8 GB of RAM, surpassing the 6 GB of the previous model. The battery will likely remain at 5,000 mAh, a constant in the A series, but the significant improvement lies in the 45W fast charging, a notable advance over the 25W of previous models, allowing for quicker device recharging.
The camera section will also benefit from optimizations, with improvements in the rear sensors and software, along with the incorporation of features powered by Galaxy AI that will enhance image quality. However, it is not expected to include a telephoto zoom sensor, a feature reserved for high-end models.
As for software, the Galaxy A56 will come with Android 15 and the One UI 7 interface. Among the new features will be context-sensitive notifications and customizable settings for the flash and flashlight, as well as the ability to archive applications without losing their data. Samsung promises to maintain its commitment to four years of Android updates and five years of security patches. In terms of connectivity, the A56 will offer enhanced compatibility with 5G, support for dual SIM, and likely higher speeds on mobile networks, thanks to certifications such as 5G eMBB. The device is expected to include certain exclusive artificial intelligence features, given that its 8 GB of RAM meets the necessary requirements for this.
Regarding price, the Galaxy A56 is estimated to cost similarly to the A55, around 479 euros in Europe (approximately 500 dollars). Samsung typically unveils its A series in March, with availability in certain markets starting from April, although there are rumors that this model may not reach the U.S. In summary, the Galaxy A56 5G promises improvements in fast charging, cameras, and connectivity, maintaining the successful formula of the A series, and now we just have to wait for its official launch to assess whether it will meet expectations.
