Samsung accidentally reveals important information: its larger QD-OLED TVs may arrive in 2025.
If you thought a 77-inch QD-OLED was big...
Samsung is preparing to launch its largest QD-OLED television to date by 2025, incorporating this technology into its S95 series. This information has been extracted from the company's own parts registry, which shows QD-OLED panels of up to 83 inches with model numbers corresponding to 2025. The news was initially shared on a discussion platform and has been confirmed by other sources.
QD-OLED technology represents direct competition with LG's W-OLED panels and is currently used in some of the best OLED TV models, including the Samsung S95D and the Sony A95L. Until now, the maximum available size for these panels was 77 inches, so the inclusion of 83-inch panels in Samsung's database marks a significant increase in size.
It has also been indicated that the 83-inch Samsung S95F model could be available with both panel options, QD-OLED and W-OLED. This has led to what has been termed a "panel lottery," where it is often unclear what type of panel is found in a specific Samsung television. An example of this can be seen in the QN90 QNED model, which can come with either a VA LCD or IPS LCD panel, each with different contrast levels.
For now, this information is only recorded in the parts database. However, following their usual timeline, Samsung is expected to present its new range of TVs during CES 2025 in January, additionally anticipating a series of leaks in the days leading up to the event.
