Reasons Why I Love the Logitech MX Vertical Wireless Mouse

Keep your mouse experience pain-free.

Victoria Song, a senior reviewer at The Verge specializing in health technology and wearables, shares her experience with the Logitech MX Vertical, a wireless mouse that has become one of her favorites. She has been fascinated by vertical mice since she reviewed the Evoluent VerticalMouse C in 2016, and she purchased the MX Vertical in March 2022 after using an Anker vertical mouse for three and a half years, which stopped working after an accident with her cat.

One of the main reasons for choosing the MX Vertical was its excellent reputation among other enthusiasts of these devices. This mouse offers both wired and wireless connectivity options, and its battery lasts for several months on a single charge. Additionally, it allows for easy adjustment of the cursor speed and features two customizable buttons that are accessible with the thumb, making it very handy for forward and backward functions. This comfort has been a notable relief for her wrist, which used to hurt when using conventional mice.

However, there are aspects she would like to see improved. Despite its efficiency, the MX Vertical tends to accumulate grease from fingers and dead skin, requiring regular cleaning to keep it in good condition. While the aesthetics and finish are affected by use, the functionality of the device outweighs these minor annoyances. Victoria also wishes the mouse was available in more colors, similar to the Logitech Lift, which comes in white and pink, though she finds it more challenging to use the Lift due to its size.

Song recommends the MX Vertical to those who depend on a healthy and pain-free wrist. Before using vertical mice, she experienced cramps and discomfort from using traditional mice and trackpads. Transitioning to the MX Vertical was quite straightforward and allowed her to notice an almost immediate improvement in her comfort. However, she notes that it took her a few days to fully adjust to the design.

In her current search, Victoria is exploring technology devices that are not smartwatches, including smart glasses, smart rings, and AI wearables. She is also trying to get back into her training routine after a break due to health issues, planning a 12-week cycle to improve her speed in 5K races. Furthermore, she is striving to return to her hobbies like calligraphy and scrapbooking.
