New details about No Man's Sky for PS5 Pro reveal support for 8K.
Improvements in PSVR 2 of Plus.
The development studio Hello Games has shared details about the enhancements available for No Man’s Sky on the PlayStation 5 Pro, which arrive as part of the recent update called 'The Cursed'. Those who have pre-ordered the console will be able to enjoy these features immediately with the launch of the device.
One of the main additions is the implementation of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology, which allows the game to run at 4K resolution with 60 fps, offering a much smoother performance compared to the standard PS5 version. Additionally, the title becomes one of the few that supports 8K resolution, albeit with a limit of 30 fps for this visual mode.
The enhancements in the PS5 Pro version include significantly superior visual quality, with advancements in lighting, ultra-quality reflections, and improved ambient occlusion. This will allow players to explore stunning details in the alien worlds that No Man’s Sky offers, unlike anything seen before on console.
Furthermore, these improvements will also be available for PSVR 2 users, which is a surprising detail given that this virtual reality device has received less attention from various developers in recent times, representing a significant incentive for those who own this expensive hardware.
No Man’s Sky was originally released on PS4 in 2016 with a lukewarm reception, but it has since received numerous free updates, transforming it into one of the most comprehensive and detailed space exploration games on the market. This title is part of a list of 50 confirmed games that will feature enhancements for the PS5 Pro at launch, alongside others like Alan Wake 2, Demon’s Souls, Dead Island 2, and Lies of P.
