New AI Features Coming to Google Workspace.
New tools will be added to Google Meet and Google Chat.
Google Workspace is introducing new AI-powered tools in Google Meet and Google Chat without the need to purchase an additional Gemini add-on. These innovations include Generated Background Images and features such as Studio Look, Studio Lighting, and Studio Sound for Google Meet, as well as the "Translate for me" tool that will be arriving in Google Chat.
This update follows the recent integration of Gemini AI across various Google services, including enhancements in Google Calendar that allow users to avoid manual input of appointments or scheduling meetings.
The "Translate for me" feature in Google Chat acts as an automatic detection and translation system that identifies over 120 languages, translating messages while keeping the original text available for review.
For Google Meet, the introduction of Generated Background Images allows users to create customized backgrounds for their meetings, helping to hide the surroundings in case the workspace is not in optimal condition. Furthermore, Studio Look will use machine learning to enhance image quality by reducing noise and increasing sharpness, ensuring that the user is always in focus.
Not only will the image benefit from these improvements; Studio Lighting and Studio Sound will be implemented to simulate studio-quality lighting, automatically adjusting the position and brightness of the light, though these features will only be available on devices that meet specific browser and processor requirements. Voice quality will also be optimized with Studio Sound, ensuring that even users with low-quality headphones are perfectly understood.
Finally, Google Drawings is also adding the background removal feature from Gemini, which will allow users to save time on tasks that previously required significant effort and thus devote more attention to perfecting their drawings.
