Microsoft detects a critical vulnerability in Windows Defender: actions you must take immediately.
It seems that there isn't much there.
Recently, a vulnerability was detected in Windows Defender, the antivirus developed by Microsoft, but users should not be concerned about it. According to a security statement from the company, the issue was officially recognized and explained in an understandable manner for the general public.
Microsoft's summary indicated that an improper authorization of an index containing sensitive information from a Global Files search allowed an authorized attacker to disclose information over a network. In other words, there was a theoretical possibility that a malicious individual could exploit this vulnerability to send private files to unauthorized individuals in order to receive such information.
Despite the existence of the vulnerability, there were no known cases in which it had been effectively exploited. However, the good news is that Microsoft has resolved the issue, stating that users do not need to take any action to remediate it themselves. The company's recommendation is straightforward: there is no need to do anything.
