The PlayStation network is down at the moment.

This happens shortly after the major service interruption of Verizon.

Following the recent outage at Verizon, many users are looking to go home, relax on the couch, and turn on their PlayStation. However, their recreational plans have been interrupted by the deactivation of the PlayStation Network service, which has affected gamers.

The first reports of issues with the PlayStation network began to emerge around 8:30 p.m. EDT / 5:30 p.m. PDT, just one hour after Verizon announced it had resolved its widespread connectivity problems. Complaints about the service have been reported globally, indicating that the difficulties are not limited to a specific area.

The PlayStation service status page has confirmed that "some services are experiencing issues," which translates to difficulties logging into accounts, playing, accessing PlayStation Video content, and making purchases in the PlayStation store. Essentially, any activity users planned to carry out on their console has been impacted.

While an outage on the PlayStation network does not carry the same weight as a seven-hour outage of a telecommunications giant, it proves to be an unfortunate and ironic conclusion to an already stressful day for many. Although PlayStation has not acknowledged the issue on its official accounts, numerous users have expressed their frustration through social media.
