The U300 smart lock is priced at $229.99.

Aqara has unveiled its first smart lever lock, the U300 model, which was previously shown at CES earlier this year. This device, available in black and silver at a price of $229.99 on Amazon, stands out as one of the first locks of its kind to support Matter-over-Thread and Apple Home Key.

Users can unlock doors via the Aqara app or through Matter-compatible apps like Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home. Additionally, Aqara offers various entry options, including an integrated fingerprint reader, a keypad, and physical keys. The compatibility with Apple Home Key allows users to unlock the lock simply by tapping an iPhone or Apple Watch, even if these devices run out of battery.

Lever locks are commonly used on garage doors, side entries, and home offices. In tests carried out by a home tech reviewer, the easy unlocking of the U300 has been particularly noted, partly due to the fingerprint reader being located on the handle, allowing the lock to unlock automatically when held.

Among other notable features is its weather resistance, with an IPX4 rating, allowing it to be installed on both interior and exterior doors. Aqara also promises a battery life of up to 10 months and includes an emergency USB-C port. The U300 lever lock is already available on Amazon for the North American market, with its arrival expected at other retailers in South America, Southeast Asia, and Oceania in the near future.
