Interactions in applications could become visible.
Siri is expected to receive significant improvements in artificial intelligence later this year, although it is unclear if all the delayed features will finally be implemented. Deeper integrations with applications are anticipated.
Apple faces certain challenges with Siri and its artificial intelligence system, as a series of promised updates have been delayed, leading to criticism. According to information provided in a recent article, some of these improvements might be available in the fall, specifically in September, coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 17 and iOS 19.
The article highlights that Apple has not canceled the Siri update. According to sources close to the company, the plan is to launch a virtual assistant in the fall that can perform tasks such as editing and sending photos to friends via voice request. However, it has not been specified if this will include all the features that had been previously promised. Apple’s long-term goal is for Siri to reach a capability level similar to that of ChatGPT or Gemini, although this may not materialize until 2025.
Expected features include the possibility of Siri integrating more advanced photo editing functions and improving how it interacts with iPhone applications through voice commands, known as App Intents. Additionally, Apple plans for Siri to be smarter and more contextual, enhancing its understanding of the user’s situation and personal information, without compromising privacy.
Currently, Siri already has improvements in using more natural language and optimized technical support for devices. As for iOS 19, it is anticipated that more details about this software update will be shared in early June.
