Guide to Watching the 42nd Annual Golden Joystick Awards 2024

Today the winners in 21 categories will be announced.

On November 21, 2024, the 42nd edition of the Golden Joystick Awards will take place, where winners will be announced in 21 categories chosen by the public. This annual event will be hosted by actor Ben Starr, known for his role in Final Fantasy 16, along with other special guests such as Alex McKenna, Alix Wilton Regan, and Patricia Summersett, among others.

The ceremony will begin at 8 a.m. PST / 11 a.m. EST / 4 p.m. GMT / 5 p.m. CEST, and viewers can enjoy the live stream across various platforms including YouTube, Twitch, Steam, Facebook, and X / Twitter. The event will also be available on Ginx TV, Future Games Show, GamesRadar, and PC Gamer.

This year, over 125 video games, developers, hardware, and TV shows are vying for awards in categories such as Game of the Year and Console Game of the Year. New categories have been introduced, including "Still Playing - PC and Console", "Still Playing - Mobile", "Best Indie Game - Self-Published", and "Best Game Adaptation".

Among the nominees for Console Game of the Year are titles like Astro Bot, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Dragon's Dogma 2, Helldivers 2, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Astro Bot and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth lead the nominations with six each, followed by Helldivers 2 with five and Balatro with four.

During the ceremony, the audience will also enjoy live musical performances featuring music from some of the nominated games as well as themes from classic video games, performed by composers Lucia La Rezza and Mark Choi.
