Google starts offering refurbished Pixel 6 and 7 phones in 'like new' condition.
If you're not looking for the newest and most advanced.
Google has begun selling refurbished Pixel 6, Pixel 6A, and Pixel 7 phones in a special section of its store. The company claims these devices are in like-new condition, as the phones, screens, and batteries undergo careful inspection by technicians. Additionally, these devices are offered at discounts that can reach up to 40% compared to their original prices. All phones come with a limited one-year warranty and customer support options similar to those of a new device.
Here is the price breakdown:
- Pixel 6 — $339 (original price $599)
- Pixel 6 Pro — $539 (original price $899)
- Pixel 6A — $249 (original price $449)
- Pixel 7 — $429 (original price $599)
- Pixel 7 Pro — $629 (original price $899)
Although these prices correspond to the 128GB models, a Google spokesperson, Patrick Seybold, mentioned that the refurbished section will also offer options with different storage capacities. It is possible to find older Pixel models at lower prices on other platforms, either used or from third-party refurbishers; however, the warranty and return policy may be less favorable.
Google assures that the phones undergo "meticulous inspection," although it did not provide specific guarantees about the battery's condition. Unlike Samsung and Apple, which typically replace the batteries in their refurbished phones, Google's statement indicates that their technicians use only genuine Google parts for any repairs needed. Furthermore, each device receives the latest version of the Android software before being packaged in a new box, and a compatible charger is included.
