Google is having issues with the Pixel's vibrations again.
Do you feel that the vibrations of your Pixel are not right?
Google's Pixel devices are experiencing a curious change in notification and call vibrations following the March 2025 update. Several users have expressed their concerns on the Google Pixel subreddit, mentioning that the new vibration has a "hollow" feel and less "punch" after the update.
This is not the first time Google has faced issues with haptic feedback on its devices. In 2022, an update weakened notification vibrations on the Pixel 6 phones, a problem that was resolved about two months later.
The modification has also been noticed on Pixel 8 Pro devices, although it is unclear whether it is a bug or an intentional change. The same alteration has been reported on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro models, but it has not been evidenced in the Pixel 9 series.
Upon updating my own Pixel 8 Pro, I noticed that the vibrations for text messages are more intense when the device is on a flat surface. However, the haptic feedback while typing feels weaker, making text selection feel like stretching a rubber band.
It is still unknown whether this recent change is a result of the latest Android update or if it is part of a new feature. The company has been contacted for more information, and the article will be updated as soon as a response is received.
