Apple delays Siri upgrade: it's taking longer than expected.
It is expected that the new enhanced features of Siri will be released "in the next year."
Apple has announced that the new features of Siri, which promise to be more personalized and effective, will not be available as soon as expected. Jacqueline Roy, a spokesperson for the company, communicated that although significant improvements have been made in recent months, such as making Siri more conversational and adding features like "text to Siri" and integration with ChatGPT, more time is still required to perfect the personalized version of the voice assistant.
This new version of Siri aims to offer users an experience that is more aligned with their personal context and the ability to perform actions within their applications. While it was initially believed that these features would be launched this spring, it is now expected that their release will be pushed back into the next year.
Apple introduced these innovations during last year's WWDC event, where it showcased advancements such as Siri's understanding of personal context and the ability to act based on what is displayed on the screen. At that time, it was indicated that these functionalities would arrive throughout the following year. However, the recent statement suggests that the wait could be longer than anticipated. Additionally, it has been reported that a truly modernized and more conversational version of Siri may not be available until at least iOS 20.
