Filtered image of simulated unit reveals how thin the iPhone 17 Air could be compared to the iPhone 17 Pro.

Through the difficulties and the good times.

Images of two demonstration units have leaked, offering a preliminary look at the thickness differences between the iPhone 17 Air and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 series is expected to launch in about 150 days. The demonstration units are non-functional models based on schematics obtained from the supply chain, and the well-known leaker @MajinBuOfficial has shared an image showing both versions.

According to rumors, the iPhone 17 Air will replace the iPhone 16 Plus in Apple's product lineup. Its thickness is said to be only 5.84 mm, significantly highlighting its slenderness compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The latter reportedly has a thickness similar to that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, that is, 8.3 mm, making it 42% thicker than the Air model.

These demonstration units do not provide many additional details, although they do allow for an interesting visual comparison. Multiple leaks revealing the design of the iPhone 2025 series have already been seen. In addition to the Air and Pro Max models, a standard iPhone 17 and an iPhone 17 Pro are also expected, which will receive upgrades in RAM and other features.

In response to the posting of the original image of the demonstration units, industry analyst Ross Young reaffirmed his prediction that the iPhone 17 Air will feature a 6.55-inch display, in addition to standard iPhone features such as MagSafe. Apple could reveal all these devices in September, right before the developer conference (WWDC) scheduled for June, where more is expected to be discussed about iOS 19.
