Edifier's LolliClip Features ANC and Health Tracking in Open-Fit Headphones.

The LolliClip comes with a wide range of features, including high-resolution audio and spatial audio.

Edifier has launched its new model of truly wireless open-design headphones, the LolliClip, which offer features typically reserved for high-end products. Priced at $130, these headphones are available in black and white and can be purchased through Amazon starting today.

One of the standout features of the LolliClip is its active noise cancellation (ANC) system. Although ANC requires the headphones to seal the ear canal with silicone tips for maximum effectiveness—something this model does not have—there are precedents of ANC in open-design headphones. Apple has shown that ANC can work surprisingly well in semi-open designs like the AirPods 4. The performance of the LolliClip is expected to fall somewhere between these two models, using its clip design to bring the speaker pod closer to the ear canal.

In addition to noise cancellation technology, the LolliClip also features sensors that can measure heart rate and blood oxygen levels, functions that can be activated through the Edifier ConneX app, which is unprecedented in the open-design headphones category. On the other hand, the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 can track heart rate but not blood oxygen, while Sennheiser's Momentum Sport is limited to measuring heart rate and temperature.

Regarding the audio experience, the LolliClip incorporates technologies such as LDAC and spatial audio. With the high-resolution Bluetooth audio codec LDAC, Android phone users can enjoy superior quality Bluetooth audio connections, particularly noticeable when listening to lossless audio sources in quiet environments. Additionally, the spatial audio feature allows stereo sound to be processed in a way that feels more immersive and three-dimensional, providing head tracking for greater realism in audiovisual content.

The connectivity of the LolliClip is enhanced with usage sensors and Bluetooth 5.4, allowing for simultaneous multipoint connections and a low-latency mode, ideal for gaming. However, the lack of support for Auracast could be a drawback. These headphones are perfect for exercise, as they are rated with an IP56 classification, making them resistant to dust, water, and sweat. Edifier claims that the LolliClip offers approximately 9 hours of playback per charge, accumulating a total of 39 hours thanks to the charging case, although this performance may vary when using features like ANC, spatial audio, or LDAC.
