Destiny: Rising is the new mobile game from Bungie published by NetEase Games.
NetEase Games has announced Destiny: Rising, a mobile shooting game that is a spin-off of Bungie's Destiny franchise.
Bungie has begun to venture into the mobile gaming market with the launch of Destiny: Rising, a new sci-fi RPG and shooter title that will be available for Android and iOS. This game, which is an extension of the franchise, is being developed by NetEase Games, the same company responsible for the successful Diablo: Immortal. Like the latter, Destiny: Rising will be free to download and play at its launch.
Set in a timeline different from that of Destiny and Destiny 2, the game promises players the opportunity to encounter familiar characters as well as new ones. The story takes place after the Dark Age, allowing players to explore a devastated Earth following "The Collapse," observing humanity's efforts to recover from the loss of its civilization.
NetEase Games is not only introducing the option to play from a first-person perspective but will also offer a new third-person viewpoint, which was previously only accessible for certain types of weapons and gear. Additionally, the title will support controllers for smartphones.
As a spinoff of Destiny 2, Destiny: Rising will feature both PvE and PvP modes, incorporating familiar traits and innovative new features. Players will have the opportunity to form clans and establish friendships, fighting together or facing off in various challenges.
It is important to note that, since NetEase Games is in charge of the development and publishing of Destiny: Rising, the game is likely to include microtransactions, although specific information on this has not yet been confirmed. However, drawing from the experience with Diablo: Immortal, these claims raise certain concerns among users.
Recently, Bungie laid off 220 employees last August, despite the success of its latest expansion, Final Shape. Furthermore, many Destiny 2 players will remember that the company released a plan outlining its future intentions following those layoffs.
Currently, NetEase Games has initiated a registration process for a closed alpha test set to take place next month. Interested individuals can visit the official website for more information. At this time, no official release date has been provided.
