Could this be Lenovo's first NAS? A prototype of a network-attached storage has been revealed, featuring two Type-C connectors and a dedicated Ethernet port.

AI-driven storage: A new avenue for Lenovo?

Lenovo has unveiled a new concept at CES called "AI Storage," which could be the company's first AI-assisted NAS (Network Attached Storage) device. This prototype, showcased in the form of a 3.5-inch model, features a minimalist and space-efficient design with ventilation grilles on the right side, suggesting an active or passive cooling system.

The device may offer more than just a traditional NAS function, as it could act as a portable SSD or serve a completely new purpose, blurring the lines between storage and AI integration. In the conceptual image, it can be seen that this device would include a standard RJ45 port for Ethernet, accompanied by dual status LED lights that could indicate active connectivity or, alternatively, its association with Lenovo's ThinkStorage brand.

Additionally, a USB-C port is shown that promises fast data transfers using USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt protocols. Another USB-C port, marked with a distinctive red ring, appears to be designated for power.

It is worth mentioning that many conceptual devices never make it to market. It remains to be seen whether this model will evolve into a complete NAS or function as a versatile storage solution.
