Apple releases an update for Logic Pro with new sounds and search features.
The digital audio workstation incorporates enhanced emulation of analog equipment.
Apple has released minor updates for Logic Pro, available on both Mac and iPad. These improvements include a new search functionality for plug-ins and sounds, as well as the addition of more sounds that simulate analog equipment. In Logic Pro for Mac 11.1 and Logic Pro for iPad 2.1, it is now possible to rearrange channel strips and plug-ins in the mixer windows, making it easier to organize the layout in an audio mix.
Regarding the new sounds, Apple has added a library of samples from analog synthesizers called Modular Melodies, which resembles the Modular Rhythms pack already included in Logic. Another exciting addition is the new Quantec Room Simulator (QRS) plug-in, which emulates the vintage digital reverb hardware of the same name used in professional recording studios worldwide. Apple has acquired the technology from the classic QRS models and the later YardStick models to integrate them into this software.
Specifically for Logic Pro on Mac, it is now possible to share a song with the Voice Memos app on Mac, which may be useful when Voice Memos incorporates the multitrack option on the iPhone with iOS 18.2. On the other hand, the iPad version of Logic Pro has added the option to include local folders of third-party samples in the browser window, making it easier to import external audio files into tracks and sampling plug-ins.
Although these updates are minor for current Logic users, they enhance the overall experience of the digital audio workspace and enrich the variety of tools available at no additional cost. Users will be able to access the updates to Logic Pro for Mac 11.1 and Logic Pro for iPad 2.1 starting today.
