App Store Awards 2024: Highlights of Apple's Most Notable Apps of the Year.

On December 11, Apple awarded the best app prizes at the 2024 App Store Awards.

Apple held the App Store Awards 2024 presentation on December 11, celebrating the best apps within the iOS ecosystem of the iPhone. A total of 45 finalists were selected across 12 categories, including a new category dedicated to Apple Vision Pro. The company highlighted that these awards recognize developers who have achieved the highest standards in user experience, design, and innovation throughout the year in the App Store.

The professional camera app, Kino, developed by Lux, was awarded iPhone App of the Year. Kino, which debuted earlier this year, has been well received for its functionality, similar to the popular Halide app, also created by its developer. Here are the winners in various categories:

  • iPad App of the Year: Moises, by Moises Systems Inc.
  • Mac App of the Year: Adobe Lightroom, by Adobe Inc.
  • Apple Vision Pro App of the Year: What If…? An Immersive Story, by Disney.
  • Apple Watch App of the Year: Lumy, by Raja V.
  • Apple TV App of the Year: F1 TV, by Formula One Digital Media Limited.

In the gaming category, the winners were:

  • iPhone Game of the Year: AFK Journey, by Farlight Games.
  • iPad Game of the Year: Squad Busters, by Supercell.
  • Mac Game of the Year: Thank Goodness You’re Here!, by Panic, Inc.
  • Apple Vision Professional Game of the Year: THRASHER: Arcade Odyssey, by Puddle, LLC.
  • Apple Arcade Game of the Year: Balatro+, by Playstack Ltd.

Additionally, some apps were recognized for their cultural impact, highlighting:

  • Oko by AYES BV: a tool that helps users who are blind or have low vision navigate confidently through urban environments.
  • EF Hola by Signum International AG: an AI-powered platform that supports language learning.
  • DailyArt by Zuzanna Stanska: connects users with artistic works throughout history.
  • NYT Games by The New York Times Company: offers daily games that connect friends and family.
  • The Shipwreck by The Pixel Hunt: an interactive narrative experience that explores mental conflicts.
  • Do You Really Want to Know? 2 by Gamtropy Co., Ltd.: an app that addresses life with HIV, providing resources and education to its users.
