Animal Crossing for mobile will launch its new paid app in December.
Your camp is transitioning from freemium to premium.
On December 3, the final version of Animal Crossing without microtransactions, titled Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, will be released on iOS and Android. This new edition will replace the current "free-to-start" version of Pocket Camp, which was launched in 2017. The initial price in the United States will be $9.99, although starting January 30 at 10 PM PT, its cost will double to $19.99.
Pocket Camp players who wish to transfer their game data have until June 1, 2025, to do so using a linked Nintendo account. It is important to note that the original app's service will be discontinued on November 28 at 7 AM PT, which means interested players must ensure their data is saved and ready for transfer before that deadline. Some of these details have been explained in a 12-minute video that also addresses the features that will be retained and what will not be available in the new version.
One of the new features of Pocket Camp Complete is the ability to play without the need for a constant internet connection. While players will still be able to visit and trade with friends online, the new version allows for a completely offline experience. Instead of the premium currency Leaf Tickets from the original version, the complete edition will introduce Leaf Tokens, which can be obtained by exchanging Bells or completing objectives. These tokens will be used to purchase furniture or speed up crafting times, suggesting that the replacement for in-game purchases may require more dedication. Additionally, those who have old Leaf Tickets will need to spend them before the Thanksgiving deadline, as they will not carry over.
Another highlighted feature of Pocket Camp Complete is the inclusion of Camper Cards, which players can customize with their favorite avatars and animals. These can be created and exchanged in real life via QR codes. Collecting friends through Camper Cards will allow players to add their characters to a new area called Whistle Pass, where they will occasionally gift you items and you can enjoy daily musical performances from K.K. Slider at 7 PM. Friends on your list who have transferred to Complete will also appear in Whistle Pass.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete is now available for preorder and preregistration on iOS and Android.
