Amazon has sent out invitations for an event on February 26, where we might see the launch of the new generation of Alexa.

That shade of blue seems very familiar.

Amazon has announced a device-centered event scheduled for February 26, where the next generation of Alexa is expected to be unveiled. Invitations for this event have been sent out, inviting attendees to "discover what’s coming." The event will take place in New York and will feature Panos Panay, Amazon's Senior Vice President of Devices, along with other team members.

Although a teaser image has been shared showing a distinctive blue color, details are limited. The highlighted text in the invitation promises that attendees will see "what's to come," suggesting that new products and services could be revealed. One of the most notable hints is a wavy shape in bright blue, which could be part of a lowercase 'a.'

Since the last formal device presentation in September 2023, there has been speculation about the development of a new version of Alexa, although not many details have been shared since then. In 2024, Amazon did not host a formal device event, but throughout the year, several updates were released, including a new series of Kindle and two models of Echo Show.

The new Fire TV devices, which include a new streaming stick and mini LED televisions, still feature the traditional version of Alexa. However, it remains to be confirmed whether these devices will adopt the new variant of Alexa, which was introduced in September and is powered by an advanced language model.

Amazon seems poised to make significant announcements, and there are rumors that it might even charge for an enhanced version of Alexa. Expectations are buzzing around a new full-size Echo speaker or an update to the Echo Dot model.

In three weeks, we will obtain more information about this anticipated event, where innovations that Panos Panay and his team will reveal are expected. At the same time, curiosity continues about whether attendees would pay for a smarter and more capable Alexa.
