Amazon announces a product event for February.

The improved and anticipated version of Amazon's Alexa could be released this month.

Amazon has issued invitations for an event scheduled for February in New York City. The event will take place on February 26 and will be led by Panos Panay and the Amazon Devices & Services team. Although the invitation does not reveal many details about what will be presented, a blue spiral logo behind the phrase "You're invited" suggests a significant connection with Alexa, indicating that the company may finally make the official announcement of its new enhanced digital assistant.

In 2024, Amazon decided not to hold its usual fall hardware event, which sparked some rumors about difficulties in preparing its new version of Alexa for launch. In September 2023, the company introduced a revamped digital assistant thanks to state-of-the-art language models (LLMs), but the promised improvement has yet to be launched. Additionally, it has been reported that Amazon intends to establish a subscription cost for using this new assistant.

This event will mark Panos Panay's first major appearance since he joined Amazon from Microsoft in 2023. Panay took over as head of Devices & Services, replacing Dave Limp. Although he previously organized a smaller event for media during the launch of new Kindles in October last year, this occasion promises to be more significant. The Devices & Services group encompasses key products such as Echo smart speakers, Fire TVs, Kindles, and, of course, Alexa.
