A new mobile game from The Sims has emerged.

Meet The Sims: Stories from the City Laboratories.

A new game from The Sims has been detected on the Google Play Store for mobile devices, although it is important to note that it is not The Sims 5. This game, currently titled The Sims Labs: Town Stories, is part of the new platform The Sims Labs, which will serve as a space to test future products and features.

The game's listing on Google Play describes it as "a brand new exciting building simulation game." Set in the town of Plumbrook, the player's character has just moved there. According to the displayed images, the gameplay seems to involve traditional Sims-style building and interaction with the town's residents.

Although the game is not yet available for download, an anonymous account on X / Twitter has shared what appears to be a first look at the gameplay. This account claims that the game has a semi-open environment and uses a mix of resources from The Sims Mobile and The Sims FreePlay. The footage shows the player interacting with Bella Goth, an iconic character from the series, suggesting that there will be references for long-time fans of The Sims. The overall interface resembles previous mobile installations quite a bit, with some elements, such as a bright blue player level bar, identifiable as coming from The Sims Mobile.

Given the use of these seemingly provisional resources, it is evident that the title is in a very early stage of development. Several visual glitches can also be noticed, especially in the character animations and the rather flat lighting. However, the arrival of a new Sims game always brings a good dose of excitement, and there will be anticipation to learn more about this project.

For those who prefer to play a title that is already available, The Sims 4 can be downloaded for free on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and is also accessible on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5 thanks to backwards compatibility.
