El Lasso de Sonos finalmente podría presentar la tecnología de audio de Mayht.

Following a previous leak about Sonos working on a new version of its high-end Sonos Arc soundbar codenamed “Lasso,” a recent leak by The Verge has provided images of the upcoming speaker. This leak confirms that the new speaker is expected to come with advanced audio technology.

The Sonos Lasso retains the design of the original Arc, featuring a long black plastic-encased body with a single HDMI port and an Ethernet port for a stable internet connection. One noticeable addition is a button with a Bluetooth symbol, suggesting that the Lasso will support Bluetooth audio playback, a feature unprecedented in Sonos soundbars. Moreover, there is a physical switch to activate or deactivate the built-in microphone for privacy.

The most significant aspect of the new speaker is the inclusion of Mayht technology, as reaffirmed by The Verge. Sonos acquired Mayht Holding BV earlier, allowing smaller speakers to deliver powerful sound akin to larger ones. This technology enables a mid-sized soundbar to produce true bass even without a subwoofer, achieving a similar performance to a more extensive system.

Despite these revelations, there are still unanswered questions about the Sonos Lasso, including its official name – speculated to be Arc 2, pricing, which is rumored to be around $1,200, and the release date, with uncertainties if it will launch in 2024. The hope is that Sonos does not encounter the same issues as its recent app update with this new speaker.
