What Does the Leak of the Honor Magic V4 Camera Reveal?

According to recent leaks, the new Honor Magic V4 may stand out for having one of the most advanced cameras in the foldable phone market. In its evolution from the Magic V3, the Magic V4 has not yet released its official specifications, but a well-known leaker has revealed information about its features, including the presence of a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.

The leaks, shared on Weibo by Digital Chat Station, suggest that this device will be impressive in terms of hardware, featuring a 50MP main sensor of 1/1.5″, accompanied by a 200MP periscope telephoto lens that will offer 3x optical zoom thanks to its 1/1.4″ sensor. These features could position the Honor Magic V4 as the leader in the foldable phone segment, surpassing the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, which has only a 10MP telephoto camera, and the Oppo Find N5, whose periscope telephoto camera is 50MP.

The Honor Magic V3, known for being the thinnest foldable of its time, was dethroned by the Oppo Find N5, but it is anticipated that the new Magic V4 will be even thinner, with a design that could measure less than 9mm when folded, compared to the 9.2mm of the V3. In addition to its photographic capabilities, it is rumored that the Magic V4 will feature an 8-inch internal display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a 6.45” external display also with 120Hz.

On the other hand, the phone is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, adding further appeal to its specifications. The unveiling of the Honor Magic V4 is expected next summer in the northern hemisphere, with June marked as the likely month for its launch.
