Viewsonic unveils the world's smallest 5K monitor, and I hope it's available for sale this time.

The ViewSonic VP2788-5K monitor will be available for purchase in the first quarter of 2025.

ViewSonic is about to unveil its latest monitor, the VP2788-5K, at the Pepcom Digital Experience event scheduled for January 2025. This new model features a 27-inch screen and positions itself as the smallest 5K (5120 x 2880) monitor on the market. During this event, the company will also showcase other monitors, including the VG2748N, a 27-inch model with 1080p resolution and wireless streaming capabilities, as well as the XG275D-4K, a gaming monitor that offers 4K resolution and adjustable refresh rates.

The VP2788-5K stands out for its compact design, a wide color spectrum achieving 99% of the DCI-P3 color space, and various connectivity options including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, USB-C and A, as well as DisplayPort. While the monitor is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2025, just before the end of March, the price has not yet been revealed.

Despite the excitement surrounding this announcement, it is important to note that ViewSonic's previous attempt to introduce an 8K monitor, the VP3286-8K, never materialized in the market. Nevertheless, Jeff Muto, the company’s business line director, expressed his enthusiasm about the new series of products that will be launched in 2025, stating that these desktop monitors and current portable display devices reflect ViewSonic’s commitment to continue expanding its display solutions to cater to various work and entertainment needs.
