This unusual title will finally arrive on Nintendo Switch Online.

Since Banjo Kazooie was added to the Switch Online + Expansion Pack, we have been waiting for its sequel.

One of Rare's classics for the Nintendo 64 will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack library. The game Banjo-Tooie, the sequel to Banjo Kazooie, will be released on October 25. Nintendo made the announcement through a trailer highlighting the game's features, although there will be no surprises for those who have already played it.

This version appears to be a direct adaptation for Switch Online, but it includes a new widescreen mode, allowing for a better viewing experience on larger TVs. Banjo Kazooie has been available on the platform for two years now, and while many consider the first title to be more famous, Banjo-Tooie has its own charm, with more puzzles, improved graphics, and extensive game worlds, as well as offering multiplayer modes.

It is noteworthy that Banjo-Tooie was the last game Rare developed in collaboration with Nintendo before its acquisition by Microsoft in 2002. Nintendo had invested heavily in Rare, leading to iconic releases for the Nintendo 64, such as GoldenEye 007. This title and Banjo Kazooie were added to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service in 2022 and 2023, respectively, so the inclusion of Banjo-Tooie was anticipated.

Additionally, Expansion Pack subscribers can access other Nintendo 64 games such as Mario Kart 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, as well as multiple Mario Party titles, among others. There are also games from Super NES, Game Boy, NES, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis available for those interested in exploring more options. On the other hand, the basic subscription to Nintendo Switch Online costs $20 per year, while the expansion amounts to $50 per year.

In another area, there is growing anticipation about the possibility of Baldur's Gate 3 coming to Nintendo Switch. This game has revolutionized the gaming industry since its release, achieving critical and commercial success across all available platforms. However, there is currently no confirmation of a Switch release, nor any indication that Larian Studios has plans to bring it to this console. The company announced the cancellation of planned downloadable content, focusing instead on new projects separate from the Baldur's Gate universe. The game director, Swen Vincke, indicated the intention to close the chapter on Baldur's Gate 3 and hand the torch to another studio that can continue the legacy of this franchise.
