The live camera and screen sharing features of Gemini, Google’s AI chatbot, are being rolled out on the Pixel 9 series phones and Samsung Galaxy S25 devices. This free update will also soon be available for other Android devices, although it will be exclusive to paid subscribers of Gemini Advanced.
Once the feature is available on your device, you will be able to easily activate it and ask Gemini Live questions about what your camera can see. For example, in a video released by Google in April, it demonstrated how one could point to an aquarium and ask questions about the fish visible. You can also use the new screen sharing button to show a shopping website and ask the AI assistant to compare products or provide style advice.
Last month, a Google representative, Alex Joseph, stated that these features were already reaching users, and some internet users confirmed they saw them on their devices, including one from Xiaomi. The video and screen sharing functions in Gemini Live were first introduced in May during the Google I/O developer conference as part of "Project Astra."
Gemini Live is available in 45 languages in certain countries and for users over 18 years old, excluding educational and business accounts.
