Naughty Dog has confirmed that the highly anticipated launch of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for PC will take place on April 3, 2025. This news aligns with Sony’s commitment to presenting its exclusive titles in a timely manner. Matthew Gallant, the game director, expressed his excitement about being able to offer the experience of The Last of Us Part 2 to PC players, highlighting the new features included in the enhanced version for PS5.
The PC adaptation has been developed in collaboration with Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy Studios, and will include the same remastered features that were introduced in the PS5 version. These features include the roguelike mode No Return, lost levels with developer commentary, a "Guitar free play" mode, among others. Additionally, it has been mentioned that the PC version will be "new and optimized" for this platform, with specific details to be revealed closer to the release date.
It’s important to note that this PC version will arrive less than a year after the release of the remaster for PlayStation 5, which followed the original release on PS4 in 2020. Reports indicate that the development of the PC version was completed some time ago, but it may have been delayed to align with the premiere of The Last of Us Part 2 on HBO, scheduled for the first half of 2025.
In a review of the PS5 remaster, the No Return mode was highlighted, praising the relationship between the main characters, Joel and Ellie, which remains the heart of this intense and heartbreaking adventure.
