The Ray-Ban Meta glasses reach version 9.0 and now include voice messaging.
With the latest update of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses, it is now possible to set timers, send voice notes, and share Meta AI chats with others.
The innovation in Ray-Ban Meta glasses continues with the arrival of software version 9.0, just a month after updating to version 8.0. This release, which is part of a trend of significant version increments, introduces not only the typical bug fixes and performance improvements but also three outstanding new features.
One of the most notable enhancements is the ability to record and send voice messages directly from the glasses. These messages can last up to a minute and can be sent via WhatsApp and Messenger, the two main messaging apps from Meta. Additionally, users can ask their glasses to play any received voice message simply by saying, "Hey, Meta, play message," after receiving a notification.
Another interesting feature of version 9.0 is the ability to set timers hands-free. Users will receive a notification on the glasses when the timer runs out, which is very convenient. Finally, the update allows sharing responses from Meta AI in Facebook or Instagram stories or sending them to one of the contacts using voice commands. For this task, the apps need to be connected to the Meta View app.
However, despite these new additions, they still do not reach the level of the impressive demonstrations that Mark Zuckerberg presented during the Meta Connect event at the end of September, suggesting that there will be more significant updates in the future.
