The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Founders Edition cards will be released later this month.
The associated cards of the RTX 5070 continue to progress as planned.
Nvidia has confirmed that the Founders Edition models of its GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card will not be available at the same time as other versions in the 5070 series. While reviews for this new model, which is priced at $549, have been published, its launch has been scheduled for later in March. Ben Berraondo, Nvidia GeForce's global public relations director, revealed that the Founders Edition version will be ready later in the month.
Those interested in acquiring the RTX 5070 Founders Edition will have to wait for this date or could opt for third-party versions, which will be released on March 5 by companies like Asus and MSI. This situation was previously reported by editor Andreas Schilling, who mentioned the delayed launch of the Founders Edition on X. This is the latest in a series of delays, as Nvidia had postponed the release of the RTX 5070 series from its initially scheduled date of February 28.
Berraondo also listed the manufacturers that will offer RTX 5070 cards at the recommended retail price starting March 5, including brands like Asus, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, Gigabyte, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY, and Zotac. Although Nvidia had claimed that the 5070 would offer performance similar to the RTX 4090 model, which costs $1,599, tests so far do not support that claim.
This delay and the mixed reviews regarding the RTX 5070 Founders Edition contribute to a troubled launch for Nvidia's 50 series chips, which have already faced "rare" manufacturing issues with the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Ti, which lacked physical rendering output units (ROPs).
