The Next Internet of Agents Is Being Developed Today and Will Almost Completely Do Without Humans.
It is said that they won't even speak the same language as us.
The paradigm of automated agents is rapidly transforming, with a particular focus on collaboration between agents. Cisco, as a leader in this trend, is in a key position to develop the necessary infrastructure that allows these agents to operate independently and without human intervention. This advancement, known as the "Internet of Agents," promises to redefine business dynamics and industries by enabling autonomous machines to work together to solve complex tasks.
Cisco's Outshift group plays an important role in addressing the challenges related to connecting these agents. According to Vijoy Pandey from Outshift, we are at a turning point where a paradigm shift toward agent-centric distributed computing is taking place. This new approach must be "fast, secure, and open," and will require advanced technologies that enable low-latency communications and secure encryption.
The evolution of artificial intelligence models, such as ChatGPT, has helped accelerate the emergence of these agents, which now not only generate text or images but are also capable of planning and reasoning autonomously. However, significant obstacles still exist, such as the need for cooperation among industries to establish common protocols and build trust in these systems.
On the other hand, Microsoft is exploring how to improve communication between artificial intelligence agents through its new language called "DroidSpeak." Inspired by the sounds emitted by droids in Star Wars, this language aims to be faster and more efficient than English, achieving up to three times greater performance compared to previous models.
Despite high expectations, both Cisco and Microsoft recognize that there is still a long way to go. The development of open standards that enable compatibility between different models, as well as advances in computational efficiency, will be crucial to making the concept of an Internet of Agents a reality. If these objectives are achieved, we could enter a new era of collaboration where the human role becomes a secondary aspect.
