The new League of Legends character comes from Arcane.

Before the release of the second season of Arcane, Ambessa Medarda will join the champion roster of League of Legends.

The second season of the animated series Arcane, based on League of Legends, will be released next month, and to commemorate this event, Riot Games will add Ambessa Medarda as a new champion in the game. This addition will be part of patch 14.22. Ambessa, matriarch of the Merdarda family from Noxus, appears in the first season of Arcane, where she advises her daughter Mel. Following Jinx's attack on Mel and the Piltover council, it seems that Ambessa will have a mission of vengeance in the upcoming season.

Riot Games considers Ambessa to be an engaging character worthy of inclusion in the game. Game designer Max Perlman commented that the series served as a foundation for developing the features of her skill kit. Ambessa will be designed to perform in the top lane, capable of one-on-one combat against other champions.

Her passive ability, "Drakehound’s Step," allows her to make a quick movement after using an ability, enhancing the range, damage, and attack speed of her next ability while recovering energy. Her Q ability, "Cunning Sweep," starts as a basic attack that damages enemies in front of her; if it hits, it transforms into "Sundering Slam," dealing additional damage. The W ability, "Repudiation," provides a shield and damages nearby enemies upon hitting the ground. The E ability, "Lacerate," allows Ambessa to damage enemies around her and combines with "Drakehound’s Step" for a double attack. Finally, her ultimate ability is "Public Execution," which teleports her to the farthest enemy in a selected line, dealing damage, stunning, and suppressing that enemy.

Ambessa presents an attractive option for aggressive players or those new to the game after watching Arcane. In addition to the arrival of this new champion, the game mode "All Random, All Mid" will receive a new map inspired by the "Bridge of Progress" between the release of Patch 14.22 and January 8, 2025. The second season of Arcane will air in three acts on November 9, 16, and 23.
