The new floating and luminous turntable from Audio-Technica is as impressive as its limited edition.

The Hotaru uses magnets to lift its illuminated turntable, isolating it from unwanted vibrations.

Audio-Technica has launched the Hotaru, a limited-edition turntable distinguished by its innovative design and attractive price of $9,999. This model features a magnetically suspended floating platter that not only enhances the listening experience but also includes special lighting that changes color in response to the music. Production is limited to just 1,000 units.

Those interested in acquiring one of these turntables must act quickly, as the reservation period will be open until May 30, 2025. Payments are expected to be made in August, with the first units scheduled for delivery in October.

The Hotaru, whose name means "firefly," features a magnetically suspended acrylic platter, which minimizes internal and external vibrations. Additionally, it offers a total of 20 color options that can transition from soft gradients to more dynamic reactions in time with the music.

Audio-Technica assures that the Hotaru is not only visually appealing but also provides an exceptional auditory experience, promising bright highs and deep lows. Despite its high price, it is likely to sell out quickly.

For those on a tighter budget, Lenco offers more accessible alternatives, such as a turntable that lights up, available for £169.
