The Light Phone III, designed to reduce distractions, arrives at the end of this month.

If you're looking for a device that won't distract you or draw you into doomscrolling, the Light Phone III could be the perfect option for you.

The Light Phone III is presented as an ideal option for those looking to maintain communication without technological complexities. Manufactured by the company Light, this device aims to offer an experience where users can interact without feeling overwhelmed by the typical features of smartphones. This new model will be launched on March 27th.

Unlike its predecessors, which used e-paper screens, the Light Phone III features a 3.92-inch AMOLED screen, enhancing its usability. Among its features, it includes a camera and an NFC chip for wireless payments, as well as a design that allows for easier repairs, as the battery can be easily replaced, along with the screen and USB port in case of damage.

The device limits its number of applications to basic functions such as phone, alarm, navigation, music, notes, and calendar. This way, it aims to help users focus on their surroundings without the distraction of apps or games. This phone does not allow access to social media nor the possibility of responding to emails or consuming endless content on platforms like TikTok. While the camera does allow capturing special moments, there is no immediate option to share those images on social media.

The operating system of the Light Phone III, known as LightOS, focuses on preserving user privacy. The company advocates for intentional use of the device, promoting the idea of being present in the moment. In a context where numerous studies indicate that smartphones can be a source of distraction and affect mental health due to the instant gratification offered by social media, the Light Phone III emerges as a quieter alternative.

The device will be available for pre-order at a launch price of $599, which will increase to $799 at the time of its launch, with scheduled shipping in June of this year.
