Winners of the 2025 Australian PC Awards: The Products Experts Consider Superior to Others.

And the winners are...

The TechRadar team recently met with colleagues from APC, PC Gamer, and PC PowerPlay to discuss the year’s developments in technology and to recognize the standout products of 2024. Over two days of intense discussions, different categories were reviewed, resulting in a list of 173 finalists and 25 winners that truly shone. The rankings include a wide variety of essential devices and components for PCs.

The Australian PC Awards cover all the vital categories that impact a system's performance, in addition to special awards such as the Excellence Award, which is given to the person or technology that has most advanced the world of PCs in 2024, and the Gold Award, reserved for the best company of the year in this field. Additionally, the Epic Fail Award will be presented to recognize the biggest disappointment of the year in technology.

Among the highlights of the year is the launch of the Intel Arrow Lake series, which, though it did not completely meet expectations, introduced improvements in RAM speed and PCIe 5.0 lanes. Despite a lack of enthusiasm from users to upgrade their motherboards, manufacturers offered high-quality models that really captured attention.

In the graphics card arena, 2024 was characterized by a calm in terms of new architectures. Nvidia released an update to its RTX 4000 series, while AMD unveiled the RX 7600 XT and RX 7900 GRE models. However, Intel surprised the market with its Battlemage architecture and its Arc B580 GPU, which offered compelling performance at a competitive price.

The CPU segment also saw significant launches, although many fell short of high expectations. Figures like the Snapdragon X Elite and new models from AMD and Intel left enthusiasts disheartened by certain unmet promises. Apple continued to refine its M series, but advancements were limited, prompting many users to seek out more powerful solutions.

Regarding storage, while PCIe 5.0 SSDs did not achieve the same level of popularity as their predecessors, manufacturers focused on keeping PCIe 4 SSD prices competitive, while the NAS market became more static.

The year was equally exciting for the laptop sector, with new designs and components that made several models stand out. Devices like the Snapdragon X Elite and the new Ryzen 9 AI chips provided robust performance, although each faced its own sales challenges. In the accessories and components realm, CPU coolers also received notable attention, as did monitor displays, which continued to evolve rapidly.

In summary, these awards not only celebrate the best of the year but also reflect the dynamism and transformations in the tech world in 2024. The outlook for the future remains high, as new innovations and special products continue to emerge in the market.
