The Apple sports app will include NASCAR coverage before the 2025 season.
The free Apple Sports app has added a new sport to its coverage, just in time for the most important event in that discipline.
As the Daytona 500 approaches this weekend, Apple has incorporated NASCAR coverage into the Apple Sports app, which debuted last year. Since its launch in February 2024, this app has been adding coverage for various sports leagues. Its popularity began to rise last fall, coinciding with the start of the college football season.
The app, which is free, allows iPhone users to follow their favorite teams, leagues, and tournaments, providing real-time updates on scores, statistics, schedules, and news. Additionally, it features “Live Activities,” enabling users to view scores and updates on their lock screen, Dynamic Island, and Apple Watch. Its design is intended to be quick and simple, making it easy to find information. Users can customize the app to follow only the teams and leagues they are interested in.
The release notes for version 2.5 of the Apple Sports app indicate that NASCAR is now welcomed, starting with live coverage and updates on the leaderboard for the Daytona 500. It also mentions that coverage of the teams is available in preparation for the MLB season.
The app offers more than just U.S. sports leagues; it includes international competitions such as the Bundesliga, Champions League, EFL Championship, and other tournaments in various disciplines, ranging from soccer to basketball to hockey. Users can download the Apple Sports app from the App Store on iPhone 16 and other compatible models.
