Super Bowl LIX will be available for free on Tubi.
Dissatisfied cable subscribers are celebrating.
Fox has confirmed that the broadcast of Super Bowl LIX will be available on Tubi, its free ad-supported streaming service, on February 9, 2025. Users will be able to enjoy the game in 4K at no cost through the Tubi app on mobile devices or smart TVs, although creating an account will be required to access the stream.
This will be the first time the Super Bowl will be available on Tubi, marking a significant live sports event for the platform. Since its acquisition by Fox in 2020, Tubi has reported significant growth, reaching 97 million monthly active users earlier this month. Although Fox held the broadcasting rights for Super Bowl LVII in 2023, it was only aired through its traditional television channel, its website, and the app, leaving viewers who canceled their cable service with the option to access the event through costly streaming services like Fubo and Sling TV. Tubi's interface interruption ads during Super Bowl LVII may have been a preview of what's to come.
Coverage of the Super Bowl on Tubi will begin at 3:30 PM ET on February 9, featuring a red carpet event hosted by Olivia Culpo. In addition to Tubi, Super Bowl LIX will be broadcast on Fox, Fox Deportes, Telemundo, the Fox website, and the NFL Plus app.
In a correction made on January 15, it clarified that while an account is not required to use Tubi, one will be needed to watch the Super Bowl. Previously, the article suggested that Super Bowl LVII was only available on paid streaming services; however, it could also be viewed for free through the Fox Sports app.
