Significant design changes are expected in the iPhone 17 Pro Max for 2025, according to a report.
It will have a "major design change."
The upcoming iPhone 17 series, set to be released in 2025, promises to feature a "significant design change" according to recent leaks from a well-known informant on Weibo, Digital Chat Station. Rumors suggest that the iPhone 17 Air model will incorporate a distinctive camera bump in the shape of a horizontal bar, while the Pro models will feature a "large horizontal matrix design" on their back.
This transformation aligns with previous reports indicating that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will showcase a back panel that combines aluminum and glass. The design will feature an aluminum top that will house a rectangular camera bump, while the bottom section will remain glass to allow for wireless charging.
Recently, Jon Prosser, another industry leaker, showcased renders of the iPhone 17 Pro, revealing a triangular camera arrangement within a new rectangular bar that extends across the back of the device. Other leaks also hint at a design overhaul, especially for the Pro Max variants of the iPhone 17, which are expected to have a smaller Dynamic Island, thanks to metal lens technology, allowing Face ID components to be more compact.
The Dynamic Island, introduced by Apple in the iPhone 14 Pro models as a replacement for the notch, not only houses the front camera and Face ID sensors but also serves as a hub for alerts and notifications. A redesign of this feature is expected for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models, while the standard and Plus models will retain the current design.
Additionally, there are comments suggesting that Apple may be developing a foldable iPhone, an idea that has been circulating for some time, although no concrete details have been provided. The iPhone 17 series, which could include the iPhone 17 Air, is anticipated to be unveiled in September 2025.
