Roborock Saros 10 vs. Roborock Saros 10R: Which Robot Vacuum is Superior?

The Roborock Saros 10 and the Saros 10R have many similar features, but there are some significant differences between the two robot vacuums.

Roborock has launched two new models of robotic vacuums, the Saros 10 and the Saros 10R. Both devices are similarly priced, which makes the decision of which one better suits household needs more complicated. Despite some noticeable differences, both are premium robots designed to make floor cleaning easier.

Price and Design

Both models are priced at $1,600. In terms of appearance, they are quite similar, with a rectangular design at the base and a circular body that has a sleek look. The Saros 10 features a retractable LDS system on top, while the Saros 10R lacks this element. An important distinction on the bottom is that the 10R uses rotating mops, while the Saros 10 employs a vibrating scrubbing plate. Both have an attractive design.

Suction Power

The Saros 10 has higher suction, reaching 22,000 Pa, while the Saros 10R offers 20,000 Pa. Both models are equipped with a DuoDivide brush that prevents tangles, and they have a total height of just 7.98 centimeters, allowing them to fit under furniture. Additionally, the Saros 10R can raise its mops up to 0.87 inches compared to the 0.71 inches of the Saros 10, which can be an advantage if you want to avoid moisture on the floor. However, both robots can be programmed to leave the mops at the charging base while vacuuming, which minimizes the risk of dirtying carpets.

Floor Cleaning

Although they use different methods for cleaning, both models are effective at removing stains on hard floors. The Saros 10 adopts the VibraRise 4.0 system, which combines a vibrating scrubbing plate with a small side mop. On the other hand, the Saros 10R features two spinning mops, one of which can extend outward to clean near baseboards. Most consumers may find that the rotating mops of the Saros 10R have a slight advantage. Both robots come with a base that can clean their mops and empty their dust bins. This includes washing the mops with hot water, drying them with hot air, and self-cleaning the charging base.

Additional Features

Most features are common between the Saros 10 and Saros 10R models, but the latter has a significant advantage: the Starlight Autonomous System 2.0, a state-of-the-art navigation system that detects obstacles and effectively maps the home. This system is the same one used in the Saros Z70 robotic vacuum. While the Saros 10 operates adequately with its RetractSense system, the capability of the Saros 10R positions it favorably.

Conclusion

Although both models are excellent, the Saros 10R stands out for its advanced navigation system and innovative scrubbing system. Even though the Saros 10 has greater suction power, the Saros 10R is likely the more appealing choice for most buyers seeking a robotic vacuum.
