Opera will allow you to browse the web without the need for clicks.
At MWC 2025, the company unveiled an innovative feature called Browser Operator, which has the ability to transform sentences into executable commands to facilitate navigation.
Opera has taken a significant step toward integrating artificial intelligence into its browser by introducing a new feature known as Browser Operator. This advancement was revealed during MWC 2025 and aims to transform the way users navigate the web, allowing sentences to be converted into commands that are executed automatically, rather than requiring individuals to manually click through various options.
With this tool, users can draft queries in natural language. For example, when requesting tickets for a concert, the AI Operator takes care of completing the necessary steps: it selects the correct options, makes the reservation, and presents the payment screen for the user to finalize the transaction. This feature not only provides a breakdown of the actions taken by the agent, acting almost like a reasoning model, but it is also capable of handling multiple steps and remembering the context of previous interactions.
Although the Browser Operator facilitates navigation, Opera clarifies that it is not a fully autonomous system. The tool will pause its operation at critical moments where user intervention is required, such as when entering sensitive data. The key component behind this feature is the AI Composer engine, which translates user queries into navigation instructions.
One of the standout features of this operator is its local operation instead of relying on a cloud environment, thus ensuring user data privacy. According to Opera, all information, including cookies and browsing history, does not leave the device. Furthermore, the AI engine focuses more on textual content than on graphical representations of web pages, enhancing its operational efficiency.
The operator is designed to interact with interface elements that users might normally overlook, allowing it to bypass obstacles such as pop-ups or verification requests. In situations where additional action is required, the Operator will prompt the user to complete the necessary tasks, whether directly on the webpage or by entering the relevant data through a dedicated chat box.
Currently, the browser with this functionality is in a preview phase and is expected to launch in the near future. However, this is not the only initiative in the sphere of artificial intelligence; other companies, such as OpenAI and Gemini Deep Research, have also developed similar tools focused on autonomous navigation.
