Ninja Gaiden 4 will make its debut later this year, but you can already play Ninja Gaiden 2.
After 13 years since the release of the last main installment, the Ninja Gaiden saga returns with a new video game and an impressive remake.
After more than ten years of waiting, the arrival of Ninja Gaiden 4 has been announced alongside a modern remake of Ninja Gaiden 2. The new installment will be released in the fall of 2025, but players who can't wait that long can already enjoy the remake of Gaiden 2, which is available for purchase and also on Game Pass. This revelation took place during the kickoff of the Xbox Developer Direct event, setting an exciting tone for the rest of the presentation.
Ninja Gaiden 4 is a collaborative project between Team Ninja and Platinum Games, known for acclaimed series like Bayonetta and Nier: Automata. The new installment features a fresh environment and an entirely new character, making it a great option for newcomers to the franchise. While the story is new, the high levels of difficulty and brutal combat that characterize the original games will be retained. Ryu Hayabusa, an iconic character, will continue to have a role in the storyline.
The title will be launched later in the year on platforms such as Xbox, PlayStation 5, and Steam, and it will be available on Game Pass. Although it is a direct continuation of the third game in the series, its narrative takes place many years later. Visually, the game promises to be impressive, with fluid movements combined with impactful and bloody combat.
The remake of Ninja Gaiden 2, titled Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, has been developed in Unreal Engine, featuring updated graphics and the same gameplay style that has made the franchise famous. At the 2024 Game Awards, a teaser for Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound was shown, a game with retro design and side-scrolling gameplay, which has generated a positive response among fans who are eager to dive back into the challenging universe of Ninja Gaiden.
