Netflix mistakenly made its content appear on the Apple TV app.
The integration had errors and lasted a short time. Subsequently, the company admitted it was a mistake.
Recently, a confusion arose in the streaming world related to Netflix and the Apple TV app. On Thursday, rumors began to circulate that Netflix content was appearing on Apple's platform, which generated a wave of excitement among users who shared celebratory GIFs on social media. However, the lack of an official announcement and the problematic nature of this supposed integration raised doubts about the veracity of the information.
The next day, a representative from Netflix clarified that the appearance of content in the Apple app was an error that has since been corrected. Reddit users, who had been closely following this unexpected turn of events, confirmed that Netflix content had completely disappeared from the Apple platform.
Before this accidental integration was disabled, reports indicated that users could add Netflix originals like Stranger Things, Cobra Kai, and The Crown, although licensed series and films were not available. Furthermore, the integration functioned fairly inconsistently; for example, only the fifth season of The Crown was accessible, leaving viewers with many questions about the protagonist's adventures in previous seasons. The "Add to Watchlist" and "Continue Watching" features also had glitches.
While it could be speculated that this error was the result of internal tests that were accidentally made public, there is currently no evidence supporting that theory. For now, users will have to continue enjoying Netflix content through its app, while on Apple TV they can opt to revisit series like The Sopranos (via Max), The Bear (through Hulu), and Silo, produced by Apple.
