MOD Bikes presents a limited edition electric bike with a sidecar inspired by BMW.
The Mod Easy Sidecar Sahara is ideal for transporting pets, children, small adults, as well as food or any other type of cargo.
Mod Bikes has launched the Mod Easy Sidecar Sahara, an electric cargo bike with a sidecar design inspired by the iconic 1940s BMW R75 Sahara motorcycle. This limited edition model will be showcased on November 9, 2024, at the Electrify Expo, which will take place at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
The BMW R 75 Sahara, which inspired this bike, is a highly sought-after motorcycle among collectors. Mod Bikes stands out among electric bike manufacturers in the United States by offering models equipped with sidecars, in addition to other styles. The Easy Sidecar models are versatile, allowing for a quick conversion from a sidecar bicycle to a standard two-wheeled model in just a few minutes. The sidecar configuration is particularly fun for transporting pets, children, small adults, and for running errands or carrying other items.
Among the features of the Mod Easy Sidecar Sahara is a removable seat equipped with a seatbelt. This version presents variations compared to the Mod Easy Sidecar 3, which was reviewed in April 2024. Mod has incorporated a motorcycle-style front suspension with a double crown and has extended the sidecar with a longer chassis, two headlights, and a top rack. Additionally, a rear door for pets has been added, allowing dogs to jump into the sidecar more easily and safely.
The Easy Sidecar Sahara has the same drivetrain specifications as the standard version, including pedal assistance with a torque sensor, a 750-watt rear hub motor capable of reaching speeds of up to 28 mph, and a range of 50 to 100 miles depending on speed, the weight of the rider, and other factors. The bike has a total load capacity of 400 pounds, of which up to 150 pounds can be in the sidecar, in addition to a rear rack capacity of 65 pounds.
The limited edition Mod Easy Sidecar is priced starting at $3,899, although an introductory price of $3,499 is offered until December 1, 2024.
