Falco Prime A2 allows users to configure disks in various RAID modes.
The Falco Prime A2 is a high-performance mini PC that presents itself as an affordable option for various applications, including content creation, entertainment, and gaming. It is currently seeking funding on a crowdfunding platform. This compact device is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 7940HX processor and offers the option to integrate NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 or 4070 graphics. Additionally, it can house up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and features two NVMe SSDs for the operating system.
One of its most notable features is the 8x M.2 SSD bay, which allows for storage capacities of up to 64TB and read speeds of up to 10,000 MB/s, making it ideal for managing extensive multimedia libraries and quickly accessing data. The Falco Prime A2 also facilitates connectivity for up to three monitors, enabling a multi-display setup tailored to different tasks. In terms of connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi 7 and dual 10Gb Ethernet.
This mini PC has two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports (one on the front and one on the back), two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports (one on the front and one on the back), and four USB 4 ports on the rear, providing high-speed data transfer options. In addition, it features a 3.5mm combo audio jack and slots for SD and microSD cards for increased storage flexibility.
Users can configure RAID settings and choose between options that enhance performance or provide redundancy for the operating system drives. The DDR5 RAM optimizes data transfer rates and energy efficiency, while a convection cooling system ensures quiet and efficient operation.
Early backers on the crowdfunding platform have the opportunity to purchase the mini PC at a promotional price of $799, which represents a $500 discount off the retail price of $1,299. This initial package includes the Ryzen 9 processor, RTX 4060M graphics, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The ability to add additional drives allows for even greater storage capacity.
So far, the project has far exceeded its initial goal of $5,000, receiving $133,928 in pledges from 125 backers, and has 19 days remaining to complete its campaign. As with any crowdfunding project, it is important to note that there may be delays or changes to the final product, as well as challenges in production or fulfillment.
