KTC aims to impress gamers and office workers with a dual-mode 5K monitor at a much lower price than other 5K models.
The KTC H27P3 features dual modes, making it an ideal choice for both creators and gamers.
KTC, based in Shenzhen, China, has been manufacturing monitors and televisions since 1995, often serving as an OEM supplier for more recognized brands. However, in recent years, it has begun to actively promote its own brand. Its latest release, the H27P3, is a 27-inch monitor with a 5K resolution, aimed at both creative professionals and gamers.
The H27P3 features a display of 5120x2880 pixels and allows users to choose between a 60Hz refresh rate at 5K and 120Hz at 2K, giving them the option to prioritize either image clarity or a higher refresh rate. This monitor utilizes an IPS panel that promises full coverage of the sRGB color space, as well as 99% DCI-P3 and 99% Adobe RGB. Additionally, it has a maximum brightness of 500 nits and is HDR400 certified, indicating good handling of HDR content. It also boasts a static contrast ratio of 2000:1 and supports 1.07 billion colors (8-bit + FRC) with a Delta E below 1. Its response time is 7 ms.
In terms of dimensions, the monitor, which KTC claims consumes less than 168W at maximum performance, measures 613mm wide, 453mm high (including the stand), and has a thickness of 77mm. It weighs 3.75 kg, and its ergonomic stand allows for tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments. However, the stand's design may not appeal to everyone, as its appearance is somewhat slender and it may take up more desk space than necessary.
Regarding connectivity, the H27P3 includes a 65W USB-C port for display and charging, as well as DisplayPort, HDMI, and two USB-A ports. The package includes a power cable, a USB-C cable, a DisplayPort cable, a power adapter, and a screwdriver.
With an approximate price of 3,599 yuan in Asia (around 565 dollars), the H27P3 positions itself as a competitive option against other high-resolution alternatives, ensuring professional-grade color accuracy and flexibility in refresh rate. For daily creative work and some occasional gaming, it seems to be a reasonable choice.
