It is reported that Reddit experienced some interruptions in its service.
However, the Reddit status page reported that all systems were operational.
Reddit experienced international outages, according to a report from NetBlocks, an organization dedicated to internet monitoring, published on Thursday night. However, it seems that those issues have already been resolved. The statement clarified that the incident was not the result of disruptions or leaks in national internet service.
The platform saw a notable spike in reports of outages, peaking at approximately 56,000 reports on Downdetector at 7:27 PM ET, although the number of complaints decreased significantly shortly after. That same night, many users expressed on X, Threads, and Bluesky that they faced issues accessing Reddit.
Despite this, I personally did not experience any inconveniences with Reddit, so I cannot provide details about the situation faced by other users. The platform worked without issues when I visited from my Old Reddit account, in an incognito window, and also through my mobile browser on an iPhone.
Furthermore, Reddit's status page indicates that all systems were "operational" and no incidents were reported that Thursday, leaving the extent of the outages experienced uncertain. As of now, Reddit has not responded to a request for comments on the matter.
Update, February 20: The outage issues seem to have concluded.
