Reddit is back online after a four-hour outage.

This morning, around 7 a.m. PT, the social media platform Reddit experienced another outage, following one that occurred yesterday afternoon. Thousands of users were unable to access the website and the app due to this issue.

This morning, around 7 a.m. PT, the social media platform Reddit experienced another outage after facing a similar issue the day before. Thousands of users are currently unable to access both its website and mobile app. At the time of writing, 51,221 users had reported issues on Downdetector.com, an increase from the 47,000 who did so the day before. According to Reddit's status page, the platform is experiencing degraded performance. A company representative commented that "an update we made caused some instability. We have reverted the changes and are seeing how Reddit begins to function again."

The first outage became apparent when trying to access the homepage, which displayed a black screen with the message: “Upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. Reset reason: connection failure.” On the iOS app, only the head of Snoo, Reddit's alien mascot, was visible. This issue was resolved four hours later.
