iRobot has completely revamped its product range with 8 new Roomba models for 2025.

The Roomba family tree had several obvious gaps... until now.

iRobot recently introduced a new range of Roomba robotic vacuums, marking a significant shift in its product offering. Although the company did not participate in CES, it used spring as a platform to unveil four new series of Roombas on March 11. These models range in price from $299 to $999, and will be available for pre-order starting March 18, with shipping beginning on March 23.

Historically, iRobot has been a pioneer in the robotic vacuum market, introducing innovative features that quickly become standard. However, it has often seen competitors copy these ideas at lower prices, which has led many of its vacuums, both budget and premium, to not offer the best value for money. Acknowledging these concerns, iRobot has made a significant effort to diversify its lineup and enhance its products.

The new series of Roombas, named Roomba 105 and 205, along with the Plus versions 405 and 505, promise more variety and options, including models in white. The range includes vacuums that not only sweep but also clean and empty themselves, catering to various needs and budgets. A key element shared by all the new models is smart mapping technology.

Starting with the budget-friendly Roomba 105, priced at $299, these models come equipped with smart mapping powered by LiDAR, allowing for on-demand cleaning of specific rooms. Compared to previous models like the Roomba i3 and i5, the 105 series features a four-stage cleaning system, which significantly boosts its suction power.

In the mid-range, the Roomba 205 introduces an innovative functionality: dust compression. This model ensures that debris is compacted during suction, allowing users to avoid emptying the dust bin for up to 60 days, all in a small dock.

For the premium segment, the Roomba Plus models 405 and 505 bring advanced features like the AutoWash Dock, which allows cleaning cloths to wash and dry themselves, at more accessible price points than previous models. Both models boast a more effective cleaning system with spinning cloths and advanced navigation capabilities that help them navigate obstacles in the home, ensuring a more efficient clean without the need to rearrange the area before use.

The 2025 series of Roomba vacuums is undoubtedly a significant change in the evolution of the brand, providing consumers with a variety of options that suit different environments and needs without sacrificing innovation or functionality.
